Smoked Eggs

Smoked eggs add a unique twist to the traditional boiled eggs, infusing them with a subtle smoky flavour that takes them to a whole new level.

Using a smoker, you can achieve a delicate smokiness that perfectly complements the creamy texture of the eggs.

Whether you enjoy them on their own as a snack or incorporate them into various recipes, smoked eggs are sure to add a delicious and intriguing element to your culinary repertoire.

Cooking Time: 2 hours

Ingredients

  • Eggs (as many as desired)

Instructions

Step1: Prepare the smoker

Prepare your smoker by preheating it to a temperature of 107°C. Use your preferred type of wood chips for smoking, such as hickory or applewood, to impart a pleasant smoky flavor to the eggs.

Step 2: Place eggs in smoker

While the smoker is preheating, carefully place the eggs in a single layer on the smoker grate. Ensure there is enough space between the eggs for the smoke to circulate around them.

Step 3: Smoke the eggs

Smoke the eggs for approximately 2 hours, or until they reach your desired level of smokiness.

You can adjust the smoking time based on personal preference, whether you prefer a milder or more pronounced smoky flavour.

Step 4: Serve and enjoy!

Once the eggs are smoked to your liking, remove them from the smoker and let them cool down to room temperature.

Once cooled, peel the eggs and use them in various dishes or enjoy them on their own as a flavorful snack. The smoked eggs can be used in salads, sandwiches, or deviled egg recipes for an added smoky twist.

Note:

It’s important to monitor the temperature of your smoker throughout the process to ensure it remains steady at around 107°C for optimal results. Adjust the cooking time accordingly based on the size of the eggs and your desired level of smokiness.
